Pre-Season Services to Look Forward to...

19 Aug 2011

Congratulations on having made it through yet another crazy week this week... we won't know what to do with ourselves once all the dramas stop here in Christchurch!

Despite all the distractions, registrations for the Spring 2011 course have still been rolling in steadily. We're nearly halfway full already, which means you had better put it back on your list of things not to forget about if it had slipped your mind lately! Registrations are taken online, get in touch if there's anything you can't find on the website or you have questions about the course.

Those of you keeping an eye on this site will also have noticed a couple of new additions within the last few hours: a Pre-Season Bike Cleaning workshop and a Balmy Night - Special Sufferfest Movie Edition.

The Pre-Season Bike Cleaning workshop will cover all of the same things that are covered in our normal Bike Cleaning workshops, with a special emphasis on making sure that your bike is ready for the spring season ahead. The idea for this workshop came about while we were reflecting on all the bad weather we've had lately... if your bike has had as much of a thrashing as ours have this winter, you'll be extra pleased for the opportunity to clean and check over it before getting stuck into your spring and summer riding. And even if your bike has spent a lot of time in the garage lately, it'll probably still benefit from a good going over... at least to get rid of the dust and cobwebs!

Those of you who have done this workshop before will know that it's a good one to do more than once - partly because you'll pick up more tips and details the more you do it, but also simply because the workshop provides you with an opportunity to set time aside to give your bike some TLC, and because it is such fantastic value.. where else can you get your entire bike cleaned and checked for less than $50? Register for this online.

Another perfect build up to spring is the Balmy Night - Special Sufferfest Movie Edition on the 8th and 13th SeptemberThese sessions will be a cross between our Bike Challenge Balmy Nights... and the coolest cycling movie night you can imagine. We'll have a big screen set up, plenty of space for you all to spread out, and a great atmosphere for you to enjoy.
Sufferfest videos are reknown for being the hardest, most exciting, most get-on-your-bike-and-suffer cycling training videos in the world. They feature officially-licensed footage from professional races along with brilliant, hand-picked music, all combined with structured workouts that are designed so all you have to do is watch and follow... no thinking required! With Aline getting bigger by the minute... we thought teaming up with Sufferfest would provide her with the perfect opportunity to hang up her lycra for awhile.

Think of these sessions as your reward for making it through the last few months, and as something that will fire up your motivation just in time for the end of winter.  And don't be daunted by the sound of the title 'Sufferfest': as always when using a windtrainer, you're in complete control of the effort you put in, and therefore how hard the session is for you. If it all gets a bit much, simply relax and enjoy the show...

Note that these sessions are on different days of the week (one on a Thursday and the other on a Tuesday) - we've been lucky just to be able to find a suitable space to hold them! Register online.

Both the Pre-Season Bike Cleaning workshop and the Balmy Night - Special Sufferfect Movie Edition are open to anyone (regardless of whether you're doing the Spring 2011 course or not) but spaces for both are strictly limited... so get in quickly.
